Safe & Biocompatible

Unlike many other surgical hemostatics or products for adhesion prevention, the powder is absorbed by the body's own amylase within two to three days without residue, thereby preventing foreign body reactions or granuloma formation. After complete irrigation, it also does not swell postoperatively.

Quick Effect & Easy Application

The product can be stored in the operating room without refrigeration and is always ready to use. By simply removing the cap, it can be used immediately without preparation or assembly. Application to large areas or hard-to-reach areas is extremely easy. There is no risk of overdosing.

Hemostasis

The ultra-hygroscopic particles of our product quickly absorb fluid from the blood upon contact. This increases the local concentration of corpuscular blood components such as erythrocytes and platelets, as well as serum proteins and thrombin, accelerating the natural coagulation cascade. A dense gel matrix forms, sealing the wound and preventing further blood flow. The effect of this hemostatic agent is not influenced by the patient's coagulation status, making it suitable for patients receiving anticoagulation therapy.

Adhesion prophylaxis

Unlike many other anti-adhesion products, our medical powder is suitable for both open and laparoscopic surgeries. The powder is generously applied to the mesothelial defect or the tissue to be protected and then completely moistened with sterile saline solution. The polysaccharide particles absorb the fluid and form a dense, gel-like barrier, preventing contact with other tissue during the critical postoperative healing phase.

Highest precision with applicators

The new UniTip spray applicators enable precise delivery of STARSIL HEMOSTAT powder to remote or hard-to-reach areas. There are three models to cover every application purpose: UniTip (14 cm), UniTip XL (38 cm), and UniTip XL Flex (38 cm), with openings on the sides of the tip for even more precise distribution.

Application in only 4 steps

The product can be used both for hemostasis and for the prevention of postoperative adhesions. It offers a simple and effective solution for controlling bleeding, as well as creating a protective barrier in three steps to reduce the risk of adhesions.

Two-phase application

The use of this hemostatic agent enables atraumatic bleeding control and can minimize the use of electrocautery and thus thermal tissue damage. When complete hemostasis is achieved, a second application of the powder forms a gel-like adhesion barrier that covers the entire tissue to be protected.

1 - Absorb escaping blood with a dry compress and dry the wound.

3 - Apply pressure to the bleeding site with a dry compress under moderate compression for 2 to 3 minutes. This step is not necessary for adhesion prophylaxis.

2 - Immediately apply the powder generously to the bleeding site. There is no risk of overdose or adverse effects.

Moisten and carefully remove the compress.

4 - Moisten the compress with sterile saline solution before removal and carefully remove. Carefully rinse off excess powder after hemostasis is achieved.
